Another form of desktop service is virtual desktop Infrastructure over the internet (VDI). The concept behind VDI is that an organization leases physical hardware from a cloud service provider, and the service provider creates a virtual desktop for every user. When a user logs onto the cloud-based desktop, all they see is the desktop. Their data is not lost when the user goes offline. This virtual desktop service can be used in conjunction with other services like the Microsoft Exchange Server for your employees to access email, data, contacts, and any other applications on the computer.
